How do we get there from the North?
From the North
via vehicular ferry from River Heads, 20km south of Hervey Bay:

Land at Wanggoolba Creek on the western side of
Fraser Island. There is no need to consider tides on this route.
However, barge bookings are essential and departure times are limited.
- The most direct ferry is from River Heads
(20km south of Hervey Bay) to Wanggoolba Creek on the western side
of the island. (Other ferries operate from Urangan at the
southern end of Hervey Bay to Kingfisher Bay resort.)
- Barge Transfer Return Prices:
- $82 vehicle and driver plus $5.50 per passenger (under 4 free);
- Pedestrians - $16.50 adult, $8.80 child

- Barge departure times: 7:00am (Sat only),
9:00am, 10:15am, 3:30pm
- Driving Instructions:
- - From Hervey Bay drive 20km south to River Heads.
- - Allow 30 minutes for check-in and barge loading at River Heads.
- - On landing at Wanggoolba Creek, lower your
tyre pressures, because you will be driving in soft sand.
- - Follow the signs to the Eastern
Beach at Eurong, about 17km. This route also takes you past
Central Station.
- - At Eurong Beach Resort, drive out onto the beach, turn right and
drive south 200m to Eurong Second Valley. This is Eliza St.
- - You will see the Australian flag flying above
Fraser Island Beach Houses and a sign identifying "Second Valley".
Drive up off the beach and Reception will be on your left. Welcome home.
